スタンレーが燃えた週末ドラゴンボート大会開催 ※写真提供：Becky Kong, Liechtenstein Princely Navy 赤柱龍舟錦標賽 (Circus Capital Stanley Dragon Boat Championships)の決勝戦が6月11日スタンレーで開催された。第38回を迎える今年は165チームと最多記録となり、3300人以上が参加、観客は2万人を超えた。香港で最も国際的なドラゴンボート大会と言われ、半分以上の参加者が外国人。優勝は外国人男子組の覇士龍 / Buzz EA Dragon。これまで参加は男性に限られたが、今年初めて男女混合チームによる試合が行われ、話題となった。

Stanley's fiery weekend: Dragon boat tournament held *Photo credit: Becky Kong, Liechtenstein Princely Navy The finals of the Circus Capital Stanley Dragon Boat Championships were held in Stanley on June 11. This year, the 38th edition, saw a record 165 teams and over 3,300 participants, with more than 20,000 spectators. Said to be the most international dragon boat competition in Hong Kong, over half the participants are foreigners. The winner was Buzz EA Dragon in the Expat Men's group. Previously participation was limited to men, but this year for the first time a mixed gender team race was held and became a hot topic.
